Ripplix vs Profound: Which AI Visibility Tool Fits Your Team in 2026?

A fair comparison of Ripplix and Profound on engines, prompts, pricing, agency fit and what each tool tells you to do after the dashboard, with prices as listed on October 8, 2026.

This page is for marketers and agency owners choosing an AI visibility tool. AI visibility means how often AI assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity mention your brand when people ask them questions. Profound and Ripplix both measure this. They are built for different buyers.

The one-line answer: Profound is a heavily funded enterprise platform with more engines, deep integrations and AI agents that do work for you, with brand plans sold through a demo. Ripplix is a smaller, practitioner-built tool with published prices, built to explain why you lost an AI answer and what to fix. Mid-market teams and agencies usually get more from Ripplix. Large enterprises with big budgets usually lean towards Profound.

The short answer

Choose Ripplix if...Choose Profound if...
You want to see the price and start without a sales call. You have an enterprise budget and are happy to buy through a demo.
You want a clear "why did AI cite them and not us?" answer for each lost page. You want AI agents that draft and publish content changes into your CMS for you.
You want to find real buyer questions from Reddit, Quora and Google's People Also Ask.You want prompt demand data drawn from licensed consumer panels.
You need several brands on one affordable plan. You need SSO, SOC 2, an API and connectors for Tableau or Looker.
You want senior SEO and AEO experts on call. You need up to nine AI engines, ChatGPT Shopping and 150+ regions.

Who built each tool, and why it matters

Profound

Profound started as an analytics platform that shows how buyers discover brands through AI.1 Now it is building an "AI Marketer," which it describes as "a marketing expert (agent) that scans your brand's data." It reviews AI answers, spots opportunities and sends smaller agents to do the work.1

It has raised a lot of money quickly:

  • February 2026: a $96 million Series C led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, at a $1 billion valuation. Total funding passed $155 million.4
  • September 15, 2026: a $180 million Series D at a $1.8 billion valuation, co-led by Sequoia Capital and Kleiner Perkins.1

Profound says it serves "over 1,000 enterprise brands" and over one third of the Fortune 100.1 On G2, a software review site, Profound held a 4.5 out of 5 rating from 1,133 reviews on October 8, 2026.5

Ripplix

Ripplix is smaller and bootstrapped, meaning it has no venture funding. It grew out of a growth consulting business. Its three founders have nearly four decades of combined experience in digital marketing, SEO and software engineering, at companies like Amazon, MakeMyTrip, Snapdeal and upGrad.

Then clients started asking how visible they were in AI answers. The team answered by hand. They studied AI answers, compared competitor pages, checked citations and tested fixes. Some fixes produced measurable improvements. Ripplix turns that manual work into software.

The consulting side still runs as Ripplix Consulting, a senior-only agency where every operator has 10+ years of experience.6 It keeps feeding real client patterns back into the product.

Ripplix describes its workflow in five steps: Monitor, Compare, Understand, Diagnose, Act.7 A falling number only helps if you also learn why it fell and what to do next.

Data and AI engines

An AI engine is any assistant that answers questions, like ChatGPT or Google's AI Overviews (the AI summary at the top of some Google results). Both tools send questions, called prompts, to these engines every day. They record whether your brand appears and which sources the answer cites. A citation is a link the AI shows to back up its answer.

Profound's coverage

  • Engines: up to nine on Enterprise. The pricing page lists ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Exa Search.3
  • How answers are collected: Profound says it captures answers "directly from the browser," the same way a normal user sees them, not through the engines' developer APIs.8
  • Frequency: every tracked prompt runs daily.8
  • Reach: 150+ regions and 30+ languages.8
  • Extras: ChatGPT Shopping tracking on Enterprise.3

The free trial covers three engines: ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. It is limited to one language and one region.3

Ripplix's coverage

  • Engines on self-serve plans: 3 on Starter and 4 on Pro and Advanced, chosen from ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI and Perplexity.2 The homepage lists ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode and Perplexity.7
  • Enterprise: adds Claude, Copilot, Grok and DeepSeek, for 7+ engines.2
  • Frequency: daily on all plans, with the citations behind each answer captured.2 AI answers change from run to run, which is why the number of checks matters.

Who wins here: Profound. It covers more engines and lists 150+ regions and 30+ languages. That matters if you sell in many countries. On both tools, Claude and Copilot need an Enterprise plan.

Prompts: where your questions come from

If you track questions nobody asks, your scores mean little. Both tools help here, in different ways.

Profound: Prompt Volumes

Prompt Volumes shows how often people ask AI engines about a topic. Profound says it licenses conversations "from multiple, double-opt-in consumer panels of real answer engine users." Double opt-in means panel members agreed twice to share their data. The data covers ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity, goes back to January 2025, and refreshes weekly.9

This is a real strength, and the closest thing to "search volume" for AI chat. The trial includes 5 searches. Trial users also get a recommended prompt set for their industry that they cannot edit.3 So you cannot test your own questions before talking to sales.

Ripplix: Prompt Discovery

Ripplix's Prompt Discovery takes a different route. It finds the questions people actually ask in three places:7

  1. Real discussions on Reddit and Quora.
  2. Search behaviour, such as Google's People Also Ask boxes.
  3. AI fan-out queries. Fan-out means the related sub-questions an AI model explores while it builds an answer.

It then groups these into themes. You can also upload your own prompts or keyword themes. Prompt Discovery is on Pro and above, not Starter.2 We explain the method in our guide to finding the questions buyers actually ask.

In plain words: Profound shows how much demand a topic has. Ripplix shows the exact wording buyers use in public threads.

What happens after the dashboard

Most tools in this category are good at measurement. The harder question is what each tool tells you to do next. Profound does give recommendations, and its agents can also do some of the work. The two tools approach this "now what?" step differently.

Profound's approach: agents that act

Profound's Content Optimization agent works in five steps:10

  1. Benchmark: compare your page with the top-cited competitor pages.
  2. Score: rate the page on AEO criteria. AEO (answer engine optimization) means shaping content so AI assistants pick it up and cite it.
  3. Diagnose: flag structural gaps and technical issues.
  4. Prioritize: give "a ranked list of fixes, from schema additions to rewrites." Schema is code that tells machines what a page is about.
  5. Fix: push updates through a CMS-connected workflow, with human review checkpoints along the way.

On top of this sit the AI Marketer, Opportunities, Projects and a Citation Decay view that tracks the full lifecycle of every cited URL.1311 For a large team, an agent that drafts and publishes fixes can save real time.

Two things to know. Agents run on credits, and complex agents use more of them. And the full set is Enterprise: the trial has limited credits and limited Opportunities.3

Ripplix's approach: diagnosis built by practitioners

Ripplix focuses on explaining the loss clearly, so your team can decide and act. Four features carry this.

  • Win/Loss Analysis. It compares your page with the exact page AI cited instead. It scores signals like structured data, freshness, depth, technical basics, domain authority, answer clarity, structure and how complete the page is. Then it explains why you lost, gives a recommended next move and builds an action plan. The analysis mixes fixed rule-based checks with model-assisted scoring.7 See our Win/Loss Analysis guide.
  • "Why visibility changed." A timeline that explains turning points, for example when a guide gained citations or outdated pricing weakened recommendations.7
  • Discussions. It finds the Reddit, Hacker News, Quora and forum threads that shape AI answers. It shows brand and competitor mentions with sentiment, and flags high-impact threads worth joining.7
  • Content Optimization and Crawler Access. An AI-readiness score per page that checks copy, HTML, schema and robots.txt together, with evidence-backed fixes. Crawler Access checks whether the AI crawlers that matter can reach your site.7

Ripplix does not list publishing changes to your CMS. Your team makes them, and on Enterprise, Ripplix's consultants can help.2

A worked example: "visibility dropped"

This is an illustrative example with invented brands. It is not a real client.

PipeTrack sells CRM software. Its share of voice for the prompt "best CRM for scaling teams" fell from 40% to 22% in three weeks. Share of voice is the percentage of AI answers that mention you, compared with competitors. Rival Optra is cited instead.

The Ripplix path:

  1. The "why visibility changed" timeline marks the drop and shows it lines up with Optra's updated buying guide gaining citations.
  2. Win/Loss Analysis puts PipeTrack's guide next to Optra's. Optra scores higher on freshness and answer clarity. It has a dated comparison table and a short direct answer at the top. PipeTrack's page still shows last year's pricing.
  3. The recommended next move is to update pricing, add a clear answer paragraph and add structured data. The action plan lists each step.
  4. Discussions shows a busy Reddit thread where users compare both tools. PipeTrack is barely mentioned. That is flagged as a thread worth joining.

The Profound path:

  1. Answer Engine Insights shows the visibility drop and the domains now being cited.8
  2. The Content Optimization agent benchmarks PipeTrack's page against top-cited pages, scores it and produces a ranked fix list, such as schema additions and a rewrite.10
  3. The agent drafts the changes. After a human check, it can push them through the CMS workflow.10
  4. The run uses credits from the account's allotment.3

Both paths reach a fix. Profound goes further on doing the work automatically. Ripplix spends more effort on the "why," including the community threads behind the answer, at a price you can see up front.

"The useful part wasn't just finding out that we were losing visibility. Ripplix showed us what the competing pages were doing differently and where we could improve." Neha, Marketing, Recruit CRM7

Pricing and value: what coverage costs

Profound's pricing

As listed on Profound's pricing page on October 8, 2026, brands see two options:3

  • Trial (free): 50 unique prompts, run daily for 7 days, on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. One language, one region. No support, history, exports or API.
  • Enterprise (custom): "Tailored packages," bought through a demo. No dollar price is shown.

The page has an agency view and mentions a self-serve "Agency Growth" plan with 400 credits per month per client workspace. It shows no price for that plan.3

You may find older articles quoting cheaper Profound brand plans. Profound's pricing page no longer lists them, so check the live page before you budget.

Ripplix's pricing

As listed on Ripplix's pricing page on October 8, 2026 (USD, before tax, cancel anytime; annual billing gives two months free):2

PlanMonthlyAnnual (per month)PromptsEnginesBrandsCompetitorsCredits/month
Starter$95$791003141,000
Pro$295$24630043103,000
Advanced$495$413500410256,000
EnterpriseCustomCustomCustom7+UnlimitedCustomCustom

The per-prompt maths

This is our own arithmetic from the public prices above, checked on October 8, 2026. Divide the monthly price by the number of prompts:

  • Starter: $95 ÷ 100 = $0.95 per prompt per month
  • Pro: $295 ÷ 300 = about $0.98 per prompt per month
  • Advanced: $495 ÷ 500 = $0.99 per prompt per month

Now count the answers checked. If each prompt runs once a day on each engine, Starter gives 100 × 3 × 30 = 9,000 answers a month. Pro gives 300 × 4 × 30 = 36,000.

Profound's trial, by the same maths, gives 50 × 3 × 7 = 1,050 answers in total before the trial ends. We cannot calculate a per-prompt price for Profound Enterprise, because the price is not published. You will only know it after a sales conversation.

So a Ripplix customer knows the yearly cost on day one. Pro on annual billing is $246 × 12 = $2,952 a year. A Profound buyer gets a custom quote, which can suit very large programmes but is harder to compare.

Ripplix takes a different route. Ripplix lets you start any self-serve plan without a credit card and see your first snapshot before you commit.2 There is also a free AI Visibility Report, which needs no credit card and benchmarks you against up to four competitors.12

Agency and team fit

Profound for agencies. Profound's Agency Mode has two kinds of workspace.13 Pitch workspaces are short audits for prospects that expire after about 30 days unless extended with a credit. Client workspaces hold ongoing work, each with its own prompts, engines, regions and competitors. Profound's help centre notes that Workflows, Content and Agent Analytics are "only available on Enterprise plans."13

Ripplix for agencies. Multi-brand tracking sits inside the normal self-serve plans:2

  • Pro covers 3 brands with unlimited team members, for $295 a month.
  • Advanced covers 10 brands, 25 competitors and 24 months of history, for $495 a month. That works out to $49.50 per brand per month if you use all ten (our arithmetic).
  • Enterprise covers unlimited brands.

Every self-serve plan includes Discussions, plus Win/Loss Analysis and Content Optimization within its credits.2 So a small agency can show clients the "why" behind a drop without an enterprise contract. See our guide on how to read share of voice for client reporting.

Support. Ripplix offers email support on Starter and Pro, email plus on-call support on Advanced, and active consulting with custom onboarding on Enterprise.2 Profound's trial has no support. Enterprise customers can get email, a dedicated Slack channel or a dedicated specialist with a 24-hour SLA (a promised response time).3

Where Profound is stronger

  • Engine and market breadth. Up to nine engines, 150+ regions and 30+ languages.38 Ripplix's self-serve plans cover up to four engines.
  • Enterprise security. SSO/SAML, SCIM directory sync and activity logs are documented.14 SOC 2 is listed on the pricing page.3 Ripplix mentions SSO only as an Enterprise option and does not list SCIM or SOC 2.
  • API and integrations. Profound has a REST API, Python and JavaScript SDKs, an MCP server (a way for AI tools to connect to it), and connectors including Tableau, Looker, Slack, WordPress, Contentful and Adobe Experience Manager.14 Ripplix lists no public API or BI connectors.
  • Doing the work. Agents can draft and publish fixes into your CMS.10 Ripplix gives the plan, and your team or its consultants carry it out.
  • Demand data and log analytics. Ripplix does not list panel-based demand data like Prompt Volumes or bot-traffic reports like Agent Analytics.914
  • Commerce. ChatGPT Shopping tracking on Enterprise.3
  • Scale and pace. Large funding and a weekly changelog mean a fast-moving roadmap.111

Ripplix is not an SEO suite with keyword and backlink data.
