Ripplix vs Scrunch: Which AI Visibility Tool Fits Your Team in 2026?

A fair comparison of Ripplix and Scrunch, now a Sitecore company: engines, prompts, AXP, APIs, pricing and per-prompt costs as of October 8, 2026, and what each tool helps you do after the dashboard.

This page is for marketing teams, SEO leads and agencies choosing between Scrunch and Ripplix to track how their brand shows up in AI answers. Both track what AI assistants say about you. They take different paths after that.

The one-line answer: Scrunch is now a Sitecore company built for large enterprises, with deep APIs and a way to serve AI-ready page versions straight to AI bots. Ripplix is built for teams that want each drop in visibility explained in plain terms, with a page-level fix list and expert consulting behind it, at a lower entry price.

The short answer

Choose Ripplix if...Choose Scrunch if...
You want to know why an AI answer cited a competitor's page instead of yours, and what to change. You are a large enterprise that needs SOC 2 Type II, SAML SSO, a data API and multi-region setup.
You want to find the questions buyers really ask, from Reddit, Quora and People Also Ask.You want AI bots to get a special, machine-friendly version of your pages (AXP, on Enterprise).
You want to see the forum threads that shape AI answers about your category. You want to see AI bot visits from your CDN logs, page by page.
You want to start small, from $95 a month. You already use Sitecore, or plan to.
You want senior practitioners to help you act on the data.Your team works through APIs, MCP and BI dashboards more than through a UI.

Before going on, three quick definitions. AEO (answer engine optimization) and GEO (generative engine optimization) both mean the work of getting your brand mentioned and recommended in AI-written answers. A citation is a link the AI shows as a source for its answer. Share of voice is how often your brand appears in AI answers compared with your competitors. If you want the long version, read our guide on how to read share of voice.

What each tool is and who built it

Scrunch

Scrunch was founded in 2023 by Chris Andrew (CEO) and Robert MacCloy (CTO).6 Before Scrunch, Chris Andrew was chief product officer at Hearsay Systems.7 The company says it has raised $26M from investors including Mayfield, Decibel and Homebrew. It says more than 500 companies and agencies use it.6

On June 3, 2026, Sitecore announced that it had acquired Scrunch. Sitecore makes content management and digital experience software for large brands. The press release did not share the price.1 TechTarget reported that Bloomberg put the deal at roughly $225 million.8

Scrunch describes four core products: Monitoring, Auditing, Optimization, and content delivery through AXP.9 AXP stands for Agent Experience Platform. We explain it below.

Ripplix

Ripplix started inside a growth consulting business. Our three founders spent nearly four decades, combined, in digital marketing, SEO and software engineering. Clients began asking us how they showed up in AI answers. We answered them by hand: studying AI answers and citations, finding gaps and testing fixes. Ripplix turns that hands-on work into software.

The consulting side still runs. Ripplix Consulting is a senior-only team where every operator has 10+ years of experience.10 What we learn there feeds back into the product.

Our product follows five steps: Monitor, Compare, Understand, Diagnose, Act.4

Data, engines and tracking

Both tools send questions (called prompts) to AI assistants and record the answers. Then they count mentions, citations, sentiment (positive, neutral or negative tone) and your rank.

Which AI engines you get

Ripplix self-serve plans track three or four engines, chosen from ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI and Perplexity. Enterprise adds Claude, Copilot, Grok and DeepSeek.5

Scrunch's FAQ lists four engines on Core: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Microsoft Copilot. Enterprise covers nine, adding Claude, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Grok and Meta AI.3 Its pricing page shows one list for all plans: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews, and Meta.2 Ask Scrunch which engines your plan includes.

One honest gap on our side: Claude and Copilot are Enterprise-only on Ripplix.

How often the data refreshes

Every Ripplix plan runs daily.5 AI answers change from one run to the next, so more checks give a truer picture (see AI answer volatility). Scrunch's pricing pages do not state a refresh rate. In March 2025, TechCrunch reported that Scrunch's system updated every three days.7 That may have changed since, so ask.

Personas and segments

Scrunch lets you filter results by topic, persona, funnel stage, country and AI platform.9 A persona is a type of buyer, such as "IT manager at a bank." Ripplix groups prompts by topic and theme, but personas are not a listed feature.

Where the prompts come from

Ripplix Prompt Discovery (Pro and above) finds prompts in three places:4

  • Real discussions on Reddit and Quora.
  • Search behaviour, such as Google's People Also Ask boxes.
  • AI fan-out queries. These are the related questions and sub-topics an AI model looks into while it builds an answer.

It then groups the prompts into themes. You can also upload your own prompts or keyword themes. We wrote more about this in how prompt discovery finds real buyer questions.

Scrunch takes a different route. Its pricing page lists "industry prompts" alongside your custom prompts: 1,000 on Starter and 2,500 on Growth.2 Its developer docs also include an API recipe called "GSC Query-Gap Prompt Expansion," which uses Google Search Console data to suggest new prompts.11

What happens after the dashboard

This is the question we care about most. Most tools in this category are good at measuring. The harder part is the next step: your visibility dropped, so what do you change?

Scrunch's approach: optimize, then deliver to bots

Scrunch offers two kinds of help. First, "fully automated optimizations or get detailed recommendations to make pages more AI-friendly."9 Second, AXP.

Here is how AXP works, according to Scrunch's help center:12

  1. A small rule on your CDN spots AI assistants that fetch pages in real time, such as ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot and Claude. (A CDN is the network that delivers your website quickly around the world.)
  2. Those AI bots are sent to a cleaner version of your page that Scrunch hosts. It has simple HTML, short summaries and clearer facts.
  3. Human visitors, Googlebot and Bingbot still get your normal page.
  4. No new URLs are created, so citations still point to your real page.
  5. Nothing changes until you approve the content.

Scrunch says AXP is not cloaking, because it only targets AI retrieval bots and aims to make answers clearer.13 That is Scrunch's own view. Serving a different page to bots is still a choice your SEO and legal teams should agree on.

Scrunch's FAQ lists "content delivery" under Enterprise, not Core.3 Scrunch also says it does not yet offer general AI content generation, and that this is on its 2026 roadmap.14

Ripplix's approach: explain the loss, then fix the real page

Ripplix helps a person understand the loss and fix the page that humans and bots both see.

  • Why visibility changed. A timeline that explains turning points. For example, a guide gained citations, or outdated pricing weakened recommendations.4
  • Win/Loss Analysis. It puts your page next to the page the AI cited instead. It scores signals like structured data, freshness, depth, answer clarity, structure and domain authority. Then it explains why you lost and gives a next move and an action plan.4 Our complete guide to win/loss analysis goes deeper.
  • Content Optimization. An AI-readiness score for each page. It checks copy, HTML, schema (code that labels your content for machines) and robots.txt together, then lists fixes with evidence.4
  • Discussions. It finds the Reddit, Hacker News, Quora and forum threads that shape AI answers. It shows brand and competitor mentions with sentiment, and flags threads worth joining.4

Worked example: the same drop in both tools

Illustrative example, not a real client. Optra sells CRM software for small sales teams. For the prompt "best CRM for a five-person sales team," ChatGPT used to cite Optra's comparison page. This month it cites PipeTrack's page instead, and Optra's share of voice on that topic falls.

StepScrunch approachRipplix approach
1. Spot the dropMonitoring shows Optra's presence falling for that topic, and you can filter by persona or country.Visibility and share of voice show the drop. The "why visibility changed" timeline marks the date.
2. Find who wonCitation analysis shows PipeTrack's page now gets cited.Citations and sources show PipeTrack's page now gets cited.
3. Learn whyA page audit and recommendations flag what makes Optra's page less AI-friendly.Win/Loss puts both pages side by side. It finds PipeTrack's page is fresher, has a clear pricing table and uses structured data. Optra's page still shows last year's prices.
4. Fix itApply recommendations, or (on Enterprise) publish an AXP version so AI bots get a cleaner page. The action plan lists fixes: update pricing, add a comparison table, add schema. Discussions finds a Reddit thread where users praise PipeTrack's setup speed, so Optra's team joins it with real answers.
5. Check it workedAgent Traffic shows whether ChatGPT's bot fetched the new version.Daily tracking shows whether Optra wins the citation back.

Both paths can work. Scrunch's is strongest on technical delivery for big sites with engineers. Ripplix's is built for a marketer who needs the reason, then edits the page.

As one customer put it:

"The useful part wasn't just finding out that we were losing visibility. Ripplix showed us what the competing pages were doing differently and where we could improve." Neha, Marketing, Recruit CRM

Pricing and cost per prompt

Scrunch's two price lists

On October 8, 2026, Scrunch's own pages showed two different plan line-ups:

  • Scrunch's pricing page shows Starter at $300 a month (or $250 a month billed yearly) with 350 custom prompts, and Growth at $500 a month (or $417 billed yearly) with 700. Enterprise is custom.2
  • Scrunch's pricing FAQ shows Core at $250 a month with 125 unique prompts, five site audits a month, one brand workspace, five user licenses and four AI platforms. Agency Core is $500 a month. Enterprise is custom.3

Scrunch's 2026 tools roundup also lists Core at $250.14 So plans may be changing. Confirm with Scrunch before you buy.

Ripplix pricing

As listed on our pricing page on October 8, 2026 (USD, before tax, cancel anytime):5

PlanMonthlyYearly (per month)PromptsEnginesBrands
Starter$95$7910031
Pro$295$24630043
Advanced$495$413500410
EnterpriseCustomCustomCustom7+Unlimited

Cost per tracked prompt (our arithmetic)

Divide the monthly price by the number of prompts. Prices as listed on October 8, 2026, monthly billing.

PlanMonthly pricePromptsCost per prompt per month
Ripplix Starter$95100$0.95
Ripplix Pro$295300about $0.98
Ripplix Advanced$495500$0.99
Scrunch Core (FAQ)$250125$2.00
Scrunch Starter (pricing page)$300350 customabout $0.86
Scrunch Growth (pricing page)$500700 customabout $0.71

So it depends on which Scrunch plan you are offered. Against Core, Ripplix costs about half as much per prompt. Against the pricing page's Starter or Growth plans, Scrunch costs less per custom prompt than Ripplix. We would rather show you that than hide it.

Two more points to keep in mind:

  • Entry price. Ripplix starts at $95 a month. Scrunch starts at $250 or more. For a small team running a first test, that gap matters.
  • What counts as a prompt. Vendors can count prompts differently, for example whether one question run on four engines counts once or four times. Ask each vendor before you compare.

Trials differ too. Scrunch's pricing page offers a 7-day Starter trial with no credit card.2 Its FAQ describes a 7-day trial of the Core plan.3 Ripplix lets you start any self-serve plan without a credit card and see your first snapshot before you commit.5 You can also get a free AI Visibility Report with no credit card at ripplix.io/report.

Agency and team fit

Scrunch has a formal agency program. It includes one workspace for all client brands, brand-only "Guest" access for clients, pitch environments, Data API access and referral rewards of up to 20%. Agencies can also offer an agency-branded AI search product built on Scrunch.15 Agency Core is $500 a month.3

Ripplix handles agencies through brand limits. Pro covers 3 brands and Advanced covers 10, both with unlimited team members. Enterprise brands are unlimited.5 We do not list a white-label option or client guest access, so Scrunch is the stronger fit for an agency that wants those.

Where Scrunch is stronger

  • API depth. Scrunch's developer docs list APIs for queries, raw responses, agent traffic, AI referrals, site audits, crawl readiness, signals, site optimization, audit scores, AXP and configuration. There is also a Looker Studio connector.11 Ripplix does not list a public API.
  • MCP server. MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets AI assistants like Claude or ChatGPT talk to other software. Scrunch's MCP server, called Scrunchie, works on any plan. It can read your metrics and create prompts, brands and competitors from plain-language requests.16
  • Agent traffic from CDN logs. Scrunch reads logs from Cloudflare, Vercel, Akamai, a WordPress plugin or a custom API. This shows which AI bots visit which pages.17 Ripplix's Crawler Access checks whether AI crawlers can reach your site, which is a lighter check.
  • AXP. Ripplix has nothing like it. In Sitecore's press release, Akamai reported 364% more appearances in AI answers to non-branded prompts on AXP-enabled pages, compared with non-AXP pages.1 That is a customer result shared by the vendor, not an independent study.
  • Enterprise readiness. Scrunch says it is SOC 2 Type II compliant and supports many brands, sites, regions and languages.18 SAML and OIDC single sign-on are on Enterprise.2 Ripplix does not list SOC 2 on its site.
  • Backing and scale. Scrunch now has Sitecore behind it. Ripplix is newer, smaller and bootstrapped.
  • Reviews. Scrunch holds 4.6 out of 5 from 73 reviews on G2.19

The open question: what Sitecore changes

Sitecore says Scrunch connects directly to Sitecore workflows, and that its recommendations will be automated within SitecoreAI.1 Sitecore's CMO told TechTarget that existing Scrunch customers will be able to keep using it as a standalone product. She also said Scrunch features will eventually be built into Sitecore. She did not discuss the detailed roadmap.8

For buyers, this leaves a fair question. How will the roadmap and pricing change for teams that do not use Sitecore? If you are signing a long contract, ask Scrunch directly.
